Gift Giving #1.

I've been so proud of myself lately with my clever gift ideas! I thought I'd share them with you since the holidays are coming up and there are birthdays and anniversaries year-round. You know how wedding anniversaries have themes? Like year 25 is silver and year 50 is gold. Your first wedding anniversary is supposed to be paper themed.

So I made Ian a little photostrip including all of the big/fun things we did during our first year of marriage!
On the back I printed my wedding vows and then this (not all pictured here):

During our first year of marriage we honeymooned in Maui, ministered at Pure Rebellion in Colorado, played at Disneyland with my family, moved to Portland, house-boated at Lake Shasta, and celebrated our one year anniversary in Cancun!

Here are a couple other fun ones from our past!

This one was taken soooo long ago! I think I was probably 13 or 14....

And this one was taken at a fun arcade in Seattle when we went 2 years ago!

Even though paper is only for the first year anniversary, I think I'll probably make one of these for every year of marriage. It's like a nutshell of memories! And I'll start putting them in a jar on display for all to see : )

Do you girls stick to traditional anniversary gifts? Leave a link if you've blogged about any clever gift ideas you've had!

Once we finish getting our new apartment put together, I will share pictures! I can't wait to show you our new bed with a white tufted leather upholstered headboards! And I'm currently searching for the perfect floor lamp, some finishing touches on our bedroom and a few more clocks for our wall of clocks! Come back soon!

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Hot Pink???

Dumb title, I know, but the only color I could think of that is more obnoxious than orange was hot pink...

Remember when I wrote about how it makes the most sense to purchase neutral furniture items? Well, I didn't listen to my own advice and we went out and bought an orange couch. I couldn't be more in love!

I figure that this couch is still a wise investment seeing as it comes in about four other more neutral colors. So if we ever get tired of the orange, we don't have to buy a whole new couch, we can just buy the slip covers!
