Actually, I guess I kind of am. Not because I love to clean clean clean, but because I like things tidy.
I literally cannot sleep at night if the bedroom is cluttered.
Does that mean that I pick everything up before bedtime?
Nope!
I usually just pile everything that was on the bed, onto the floor : ) With the intentions of picking it up the next day.
Ian isn't a neat freak either, which I like because he doesn't nag me to pick up after myself all the time, but I don't like it because it feels like our apartment is never clean!
Sometimes though, I get really really motivated to tidy up and since I operate based on my moods I take full advantage of those times. They usually come late at night.
Weird?
Anywho. I hope you don't think we live in a dump. Because we don't. It's actually pretty clean right now. But that may or may not be because we had company today.

ReplyDeleteI can appreciate the distinction between cleaning & tidying. Our home is daily messed to the max (by me of course) and routinely "tidied to the max" (by us) :) Cute top & blazer combo! so fab.

I only ever do a good cleaning when we are going to have guests. Our house never gets really terrible, but we start to let things pile up every once in a while!

ReplyDeletehey! i've been perusing your blogs the last few days and i can't believe how similar we are! i read this post and was almost laughing because i go through the same routine every night of putting things on the floor, but i can't stand messes that stay around. this is probably because i always want to be able to have people just drop by-it's hard though! thanks for the post!

ReplyDeletealso, i'm totally with you....i'm really tidy, but not super clean. craig is the oppostite....really clean, but not very tidy. you'd think with the combination our house would be spotless, but it's not. it usually just ends up that one or the other is annoyed about the other person's cleaning habits. oh well.... we still love each other :).
So funny. I'm not a neat freak by any means, but I totally have cleaning frenzies where I get in the mood to organize everything in sight.

i think in my head i'm a neat freak...just the reality is a bit different..i have a thing about dishes though, my nana always used to say 'as long as your sink is clear of dishes' that makes all the difference, she was so wise haha...but then she also used to say 'you should have your clean pinny on for your man getting home' think Mr D would freak out if he saw me in a pinny..(apron)
