being a wife.

I was looking for an image to go with this post about being a wife but all I found were images that implied the job of a housewife was either eerily perfect...

plain ol' miserable...

or that housewives are like robots/TV???...

but based on the content of this post I settled for this sweet little number:

[weheartit.com]

Tomorrow will be my first day off in 22 days. Not only off of work, but off of life.

Sometimes you need time off from life.
I mean, I'll still be alive and stuff (Lord willing) but I'll mostly be trapped inside our apartment doing wifey things.

Cleaning, laundering, and cooking.

I've actually missed you!

I feel so lucky (yeah, I know that's not a Christiany word but I like to use it) that I get to serve my husband by preparing our home to be a sanctuary for him to come back to after serving and providing for me.

Also, I invited a friend over for dinner so I'm patting myself on the back for being more intentional about hosting!

P.S. I'll be back to regular outfit posts eventually!

  2. I am not a naturally organized or "neat" person myself, but it really makes my husband feel so loved when he comes home and the house is nice and in order. He loves me even when it isn't, of course, but sometimes my only
motivation for doing things like that is because I want to show him love.

Oh and, when life gets crazy I also LOVE just being home and doing laundry and cleaning. I completely relate to this post!

  7. Love that last photo. I really don't like doing "wifely" duties like cleaning and cooking. I know I have to clean because I don't want our house to be a giant mess, but my husband doesn't really care that my cooking skills and motivation are lacking, thank goodness! We usually split those tasks.

  8. Love it. It's funny, at weddings where they read the passage on wives submitting to their husbands you see half the people start to squirm in their seats...but the command is in place for a reason. And when you submit and serve him and in return he loves and treasures you, putting you before all else other than God and wonderful marriage relationship emerges.

That God guy really knew what he was talking about... :)

  9. I hope you enjoyed your day!! I feel the same way -- I am either at work or at school, so when I do get a day I can devote to cleaning and baking, I treasure it. That was Memorial Day for me. It was perfect.
