the turtle story.

(Senior Pic worthy?)

In my last post, I briefly mentioned something about me rescuing a turtle.
Well the truth is, it wasn't all me. Actually, now that I think about it, the only thing I "helped" with was dramatic support.

Picture this:

Me driving out of the business complex where our office is.
Sun shining.
Cheesy Christian music playing softly in the background.
About 300 feet away, I notice the car in front of me pull over, stop, reverse, and stop again.
I think to myself, "I'll just go around him."
I approach.
Man gets out of car.
I stop.
Man walks to the side of the street I was going to use as my escape route.
I realize I'm gonna be there for a while.
Man tip-toes to dark lump of something on the side of the street I was going to use as my escape route.
I squint my eyes.
The "lump" opens his gummy pink mouth and starts hissing at the man.
I realize it's a large turtle.
I'm talking the size of a dinner plate.
Man approaches my window.
I roll it down and say, "turtle!"
He tells me OOS Animal Rescue is on it's way but he wanted to get him out of the road because someone ran the poor turtle over.
I say "awww" and get out.
Man opens his trunk and grabs some sort of metal kabobber.
He pokes the turtle and I keep my distance.
(Arms crossed and everything).
He hisses and I jump back.
Turtle doesn't move.
I walk up closer and notice a huge crack down the right side of his shell.
I say "Oh my gosh." and cringe in concern.
Man digs around his trunk some more.
Man #2 pulls up behind me.
I offer a towel to the first man and before I can get it out he's already dragging the turtle off the street by the tail.
I tell Man #2 what's going on while I watch Man #1 drop the turtle once.
Man #2 seems excited and gets out of his car as if to see a brawl.
Man #1 successfully crosses the turtle to the other side.
I get in my car.
I give him a thumb's up and he looks up in the trees.
I think "no..."
He looks confused and says "Huh?"
I say "Good work!"
He gets in his car and all three of us drive out.

Poor little big turtle guy. He wasn't there when I came back twenty min later so I took that as a good sign. The animal rescue people must've picked him up!
