On Saturday we went door-to-door delivering cookies with our names and phone numbers on little cards so that we could finally meet all of our new-ish neighbors. The only problem was that 7 out of 10 did not answer their door. Including the two houses on either side of us. Well, right before these pics were taken the neighbor dog bolted out of their house, down the street, towards the busy road.
I don't think our neighbor knew since she just stood in the doorway calling for little Charlie, so Ian ran off to get him while I introduced myself to Jen.
Ian ran back with Charlie curled in his arms and we proceeded with the photo shoot.
It's funny sometimes how you end up interacting with different people throughout your day. I'm glad we finally met Jen, but when I start to think really deeply (sometimes I'm a deep thinker ;) about all the variables that collide to create a unique moment in time for two strangers to finally meet.
I guess this means I don't believe in "chance". That things just randomly happen for no reason.
Everything has been perfectly designed ahead of time.
What do you believe? Coincidence?

I'm with you on the lack of chance!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE your jacket!
You guys are so cute and nice, baking cookies for your neighbors :) Love this outfit by the way. The color of the shirt goes so well with the pattern on the sweater!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely gesture to meet your neighbors.
ReplyDeleteNice jacket by the way, I love the monochrome plaids(?) design. Looks very classy and elegant with simp,e yet chic outfit. I like the glossy boots.

LOOOOVE that jacket! Can you please take me thrifting one day? All I find is old stained t shirts!! As for neighbors, our new ones are half the reason we love our street! We already borrow things form them, one lent us his truck to pick up our couch, they always come over or invite us to neighborhood shindigs... its like this new little extended family! Hopefully they will come say hi sometime!!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the necklaces and the color of the shirt together, they work perfectly and look great! Love this Sarah ♥
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite outfits on you!! I also love that you got a shirt with a collar [or at least the shirt looks like it has a collar) :)
ReplyDeletejust a shallow comment to say that I am totalllly coveting that blouse...can't believe it was thrifted. so lucky!!
ReplyDeleteI just meet my new neighbors because we had a huge wind storm and their garbage and recycling bin ended up tipped over with it's contents all over my yard and drive way.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit. That little jacket is so fun.
Cheers,
Bre
Offering cookies sounds like a great way to meet people for the first time! Also, I love your sweater. You have the best thrifted finds!
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful! Your nude lips + green top are a great pair. I can't believe that blouse is thrifted... Go girl!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a neat way to meet your neighbors. It's sad how rare it is these days for people to take the time to do something like that. Also, your sweater is absolutely adorable.

Thanks Sar,
ReplyDeleteWe just took them like normal, but then I added a gold tint on photoshop so that it looked a little more vintage :)
First of all, I LOVE that jacket.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I think everything happens for a reason, too! Nothing is pointless or without reason, God's plan is like a beautifully intertwined network of things that happen. Or that's my opinion at least.
I remember one time I was so upset that I was running late for work, but then I thought, if it all happens for a reason, what if I had been running on time and would have been in the middle of a car accident at that time? What if I had to run late to prevent that? It's kind of crazy but hopefully you get my point. :)
Great post!
love the jacket! it's so cute and i totally want one...
ReplyDeleteI think everything happens for a reason, for sure! (at least the important stuff anyways :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... that is such a great question and take some deep thinking to figure out. I believe God has his hand in everything that He knows where we'll be and what we're doing. So, I think many things happen because He wants it to happen for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI adore those booties!! And that jacket is fab, too!
thanks for your comment on my blog! I completely agree with your opinion- we should be thankful everyday, not just one... kind of like valentines day- we should love everyday, not just one (: hope you have a wonderful long and happy weekend!
