Over the last two years that we've been married/living together, I've realized that how I tend to neglect the rooms we spend the most time in--decor wise, I mean. I over think how I want them to look and then end up doing nothing.
Our master bedroom has taken a long time to get to where it is today, and it still has a ways to go. But, it was definitely the nastiest room in the house when we moved in. Need I remind you of the original wallpaper? I mean, doesn't it just scream romance?!
We tore the wallpaper, got a bed, and lampshades, and painted the walls a light gray.
It stayed like this for a long time:
I've been wanting to add some color to the room, but not too much.
And a couple months ago Ian painted the room a Seashell color (light beige). It really warmed up the look of the room compared to the gray walls before.
I styled the top of the nightstands with some things I had around the house and some flowers from the yard. It's the perfect amount of color and romance.
We also bought this duvet cover which I just think is so perfect!
And my sister got me this crocheted blanket for christmas. I just can't remember where it is from.
I still want to frame our vows and hang them above the bed, but I'll get around to that in the next couple weeks.
We also got this chair at a vintage boutique the other day. It was 50% off of $50 so we got it for just $25! We have sooo many chairs in our house nowadays that we probably didn't need this once, but we're kind of obsessed or something. We just had to add it to our collection.
Here are some more fresh picks from the yard that sit atop my vanity
So that's that! Like I said, still has a way to go, but not much! Just those frames above the bed and new curtains! Also, once we get new floors we'll want a rug too but who knows when that will be.
I actually kind of loved the original wall paper :) But your new version is nice a full of romantic touches. You're a talented little decorator :)
