how we spent our holiday.

Sweater: Thifted, Shirt: Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Leggings: Target

Our fourth of July was probably the same as yours.
We BBQ'd, played games, and watched fireworks with our best friends and our dogs.
Normally, holidays aren't this eventful for us since we live away from family.
Sometimes I like that, but after two and a half years, it gets a little lonely.
All your friends are with their families while we're at Denny's feeling a little forgotten, maybe.
I think we've finally lived here long enough to have made some really good friends.
Friends that we saw just last night and will see again tomorrow and somehow ended up with tonight.
It's refreshing, really. And about darn time!

you can read about my struggle with holidays here.
and previous holidays spent at Denny's here and here.

  2. That's great that you guys have found people to hang out with! I know I've struggled with some holidays as well living away from family. Sometimes we have time to go home for the bigger holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas), but not for the little ones, especially with my husband's work schedule. Yesterday, he was working and I ended up at a parade by myself, which was not really worth the one shoulder sunburn that I got, haha. Oh well. I did manage to spend Memorial Day with friends, though, and that was refreshing!

  3. Heading to read those entries now... we're away from family now and my husband is a resident at the hospital and has worked literally EVERY holiday this year. I've spent New year's Eve, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and the 4th of July alone with my dog :( It's tough being in a new area without family and I hope that soon I will have great friends to celebrate the holidays with, like you:)

  5. Redd-ish shoes, blue sweater and white shirt, very patriotic! I was with my family on Canada day and it was lovely to celebrate together. After reading your post I realized I shouldn't take that time for granted.
