i can eat eggs!!!

(28.5 weeks)

You read that right, folks!
About a year ago I self-diagnosed an allergy to eggs. They are one of my favorite foods ever; scrambled, flat, hard boiled, etc. And due to severe stomach cramping, they couldn't be mine for the frying anymore : (
Well, my co-worker told me that sometimes pregnancy can kind of take over an allergy to where you can actually eat it without getting a reaction. So naturally, since he is a prankster and I'm obsessed with eggs, I just started off with a little nibble here and there.
Then, since I've been reading over and over again how good certain eggs are for you while pregnant, I decided to buy a half-dozen to hard boil and make into egg salad.
I forgot I was boiling eggs in the middle of the afternoon and approximately ONE HOUR later, my episode of The Hills was interrupted by some sort of explosion happening in the kitchen.
I ran in and shielded my eyes from the flying eggshells that greeted me.
Then I just screamed because that's what you do when you're pregnant and you need help.
Ian came running in and saved the day. But I was still upset because I needed those eggs.
Fast forward to two days ago when I went back to the store and bought 1 whole dozen eggs!
I fried one eggwhite and ate it completely reaction free!
Then I ate another one yesterday.
And now I'll probably have another one today for lunch even though I have leftover stir fry I was saving for lunch!
I'm just so giddy :))))))))))))
S + E = reaction free!!!!
This could literally be a chant.
And I can get away with being this obsessed with eggs because I'm pregnant and pregnant ladies are allowed to be obsessed with food thankyou.

Also, check out my guest post (ok, it's totally a self-promotion) over at Lissa's blog today! And if you're not already following her, make sure you do because she is an absolute delight to hear from every day!

  1. YAAAYY! Eggs are the best.

I remember being pregnant and craving an egg salad sandwich and for some reason I just couldn't get the eggs to boil right and I cried.

  2. Sarah you look AMAZING! Really, you have THE glow!

  3. You look amazing, eggs are so yummy - enjoy! X

  4. Yes! This happened to me while pregnant with wheat! I had no reactions to it and same while reastfeeding, but now it bothers me again! Weird stuff. I will say, don't neglect the egg yolk, especially during pregnancy. It's full of good cholesterol and choline which is essential for baby!! One whole egg a Fay during pregnancy is great for you and little guy! Glad you get to enjoy your fav!

  5. I love eggs and those shoes! I picked up a pair of the same ones last month!

  6. Bahahaha, I get this obsessed over food, but don't have the pregnancy excuse >.<
Love your outfit and hair in this post (not that I don't usually love your hair and outfit)!

    xx Veronica

  14. Yay for eggs!! I love that you were so cautious in trying them since your coworker is a prankster! ;) But yes, it's true. I've heard from many woman that they're allergies/sensitivities go away while they're pregnant - I like to think it's just God trying to make it as easy as possible to get the right nutrition for your babe. I also just went to a breastfeeding class this week where they mentioned this commonly happening too, so I'd say you're in the clear - eat up! :)

  15. aw, sarah! you're such a sweetie :) you had a great guest post! those photos were perfect and so true to your style! glad you're not allergic to eggs anymore- i had random severe seasonal allergies just show up and i hate them! fortunately, however, no allergies for foods, yet. (that would be torture!)

  16. yay! i ate so much egg carrying K, great way to start out the day with some yummy scramble eggs!
