a cup of identity.

I loved reading this weeks wow chapter because I feel like a lot of women can relate to this one...
Similar to the chapter on saying "yes", the author challenges you to plan a fun date around one of your husband's quirky character traits-- something that kind of represents who he is and what he enjoys.
The author says her husband loves coffee.
The only problem is that he never puts his coffee mug in the dishwasher and she finds them all over the house.
Years ago, she decided to pray for her husband every time she found an empty mug in an effort to "love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8).
I think that's really sweet to pray for your husband instead of grumbling.
I need to practice that more often!
Even though she isn't a coffee drinker herself, she planned a date on a coffee farm where he selected his beans, roasted them, and then designed the label to put on the package.

How did last week go for you?
What can you do for your husband this week?
What is one of his quirky obsessions?
I have a couple ideas up my sleeve for this one...

P.S. I added a little poll to the upper left of the page. Could you take a sec to let me know what you'd like to see more of? Also, someone had asked if I could archive Frills to make it easier to read through old posts. Well, my archive is now living on the bottom left of the screen. Enjoyz.

  1. I love this idea!! What is the name of the book?

    - Crystal

  2. Okay, I just checked out the article. Very interesting perspective, and such a fun idea. My husband's birthday is coming up, and I definitely want to consider a date around his quirky character, namely his love for all things geeky.

  3. That sounds like a fun idea for a date - or even for a present! Yay thanks for the archive haha :)

    Life etc

  4. My husband really liked looking through the photos & reflecting on our first year together. It "wowed" him :) I'm excited for this week too....looks like fun!

  5. Such a good idea! Love your posts on marriage. Always something I am trying to work on and be better at. Love your heart friend! xoxo

  6. Wow I love this idea! Thank you for sharing! I need to be better about praying for my husband, especially when I notice something that could otherwise be bothersome- like the coffee mugs for her. Thanks!

  7. can't say ENOUGH how much i LOVE these posts!! thank you for the challenges. xo

  8. I LOVE that idea.. when ever the hubs does something that I dont like I will pray for him!
i.e leaving his clothes all over the bathroom floor!

  9. I love that she prayed for him every time she found one of his coffee mugs. Seriously, that is so awesome. That challenges me to think of a reminder to pray for my husband more often. Ah..such an encouragement!
