a new pattern.

Happy New Year everyone!
How was your holiday? We spent ours traveling home from Palm Springs with a teething baby and a sick mama so that was fun. Haha!
I know it isn't Monday, but since Monday was a holiday I have once again postponed this week's Wow topic until today.
How did you do last week?
I must say, I think that was one of my favorite chapters so far. It just makes so much sense, and I feel like women are sometimes oblivious to the fact that everything effects everything. Like, that we can get away with certain character flaws if we make up for it in other ways. I don't know. It was just a good one for me to think about. I also found myself thinking less about areas that I struggle with, and more about areas that Ian might struggle with. You know? Like, what are the things he wishes I would do differently? Or is there anything in life that is bothering him but that I am refusing to help improve? I don't know. I just thought it was another good reminder to really listen to our husbands and not just assume that we know best.

This week's chapter is called "A New Pattern for Love." No offense, but these chapter titles just make me wanna vom. Where did she come up with them? And half the time they don't even make sense with the content of the corresponding chapter.
SO, this chapter title makes more sense, but it is equally as cheesy as the rest.
The chapter is about focussing on things that your husband missed out on in his past that you can help him experience now.
For instance, one husband grew up with a vegan mom so his wife barbequed some ribs and baked him a cake.
One husband quit college so that he could take care of his mom who had cancer. So his wife saved up her own earnings to pay for another semester of his college education.
It can be anything, really!
I'm not sure what I'll do for Ian this week since he grew up with amazing parents and siblings. But I'm sure I'll come up with something!

I'll be back with a recap of our trip, a post about my postpartum body, and much much more!

  6. When I think of Palm Springs, I never think of sweater weather, so the fact that you got to wear a sweater is amazing! I thought that place never got cold ;D

Is it weird that I want to put this book on my birthday list? I can see the interesting looks from family members now haha!

Btw, I am obsessed with your hair color. It's so pretty!
