happy birthday to me!

Peoples, I am turning 23 on the 22nd... I can't believe it!
22 was my golden birthday and is also my favorite number, so 23 seems somewhat insignificant to me.
Now I'm just a plain ol' 20-something. Although, I don't like to think of myself as "plain", so let's just say that now I'm just an ol' 20-something. And let's pretend that ol' isn't short for old because I don't want to think of myself as that either.

Anywaysss, I know it was just Christmas and everything but I can't help that I was born in January. And since I already publicly admitted to loving Christmas for the presents, I thought it fitting to publish my birthday wish list since [in our culture] getting older is supposed to be a bad thing (although I strongly beg to differ-- more on that on my actual birthday post) but presents are a good thing. And I like to focus on the positive.
Another thing I'm semi-embarrassed to admit because there is no way to do it without sounding like a brat: presents are totally my love language.
Thus, I think it's only fair that I share with you how you can best love me.
Hahaha. Just kidding kinda!

For those of you that love me enough to overlook the juvenility of this post and still get moi a gift or 2, or 3, or 4, {cough}MOM, {cough}HONEY and need help shopping, see below.

I've been dying for a plain red knit scarf and think I've found the perfect one

One of my resolutions is to read more and I think a Kindle would be the perfect little gift to make it easier for me to do so. Most books are bulky and require two hands for page turning, but not this little baby! I would be able to read while nursing instead of scrolling through the same pictures on instagram over and over again! Oh, and I'd lurve this, this, this, and this book on it since it'll probably take me until my next birthday to figure out how to load books myself.

Ok, we bought and exchanges about 4 strollers since having baby Greyer and the first one was a jogger. I feel dumb asking for something I already had and then returned, but a jogger just wasn't practical for everyday use. BUT, since another one of my resolutions is to be more active and it's probably not a good idea to leave baby home alone during jogs, I'd love this stroller (or one comparable).

While we're on the topic of exercise and mama owns zero lace-up shoes (wedge booties don't count, do they?) I'm gonna need some running shoes. Since I am not a runner (yet) I am not picky. Heck, get me some from Payless or something. BUT, I do love these colorful Nikes (size 7 please) and Kohl's always has amazing sales/coupons!

My tiny Camelbak water bottle is leaking and it hardly ever gets washed because I am always drinking out of it. I also would have to fill-up as often if I had this bigger Camelbak that holds more!

I'm planning a bedroom makeover and our bedding needs a little more fluff. Which is why I am asking for this down alternative comforter (king size).

I am obsessed with anything high-waisted, and tired of skinny jeans since I wear them almost every day... Wouldn't these flared jeans be a nice change (size 25 please)?

Lots of bloggers have this ring and I am coveting, major! It's the perfect addition to a hand full of rings (size 6 please).

Lately I'm loving expensive candles, so if you feel like splurging on something that's just gonna burn, goes ahead and get me this delicious candle.

And for those of you that want to mail me something that require minimal postage, gift cards to Old Navy (they continue to amaze me) and Burlington Coat Factory (can't get enough of their accessories) are more than welcome!

Thank you in advance : )

  1. Well happy birthday in advance. And we are the same age!! Woohoo I am with you there on not wanting to turn 23. Seriously I do not know what I am going to do haha. Probably just keep living :)

  2. Size 25!! Jelly!! You look fab and you deserve it! Happy birthday

  3. happy happy birthday to you! im 22 now. just turned 22 in november actually :) its kinda weird because when i was 16 i used to think that 20-something was suuuuper old. and now look, i'm that 20-something. but i still feel like a kid! haha life and age is a funny thing. my 68 year old grandma still thinks shes young too. don't know about that one but i just tell her shes still young to make her happy :)

  4. haha love this post! i love birthdays too! woot woot for 23....not anything exciting about it lol ;)

  6. great choices -- happy early birthday! xo

  7. can i just take a second to tell you how much more i love you...your blog....whatever! lol. this post is 100% me to a T. i loved it & understand every word of it. i am also an outspoken gift lover, due to it being my #1 love language. can we get an AMEN sister. i love your list, seems all necessary ;) and very practical at the same time!

hopefully you will have to make another as your MOM & IAN wipe this list clean! lol.

  8. Happy early birthday! As a new mama myself, I can vouch for two of your wishlist items. First, the Kindle! I do 90% of my blog reading on my Kindle while I nurse my little one. I love multitasking! ;) Also, I have a Baby Trend jogging stroller, and it is great! Our car seat snaps right into the top of it for easy transport too.

  9. Happy soon-to-be birthday! I hope you get appropriately spoiled! ;o)

  10. My mom's birthday is the 22nd and 22 is her favorite number too! And I am totally good with birthday lists like this... because even though I'm an adult I kind of still love my birthday and presents too. Also I love any snazzy athletic shoes. Those are cool.

  11. I still can't believe that you're only 23! I don't know if it's because you're a momma now, but you seem so mature for your age!! Loving your birthday wish list!
