Greyer's sweater is from H&M and his moccasins are from Freshly Picked in "weathered brown".
I had the best time the other day.
My sisters spent the night with me and then we played together the next day.
Girl time is rare for me because I have a baby on a sleep schedule and I'm an introvert.
But there is just something special about sisters, isn't there?
I was just telling Ian that I really only have one friend that I can be truly myself around.
But even then, I tend to holdback sometimes.
I think my openness (or lack thereof) comes from a fear of being misunderstood or judged.
People act differently around me and I know why.
It's weird because I'm a pastor's wife and even though that shouldn't be weird since I'm still a normal girl and everything, it just is.
I'm not throwing a pity party over here, I'm just really thankful to have two sisters (the platinum blonde girl is my real sister and the other cutie is technically my cousin) that I can be safe to confide in :)
Too bad distance separates us most of the year!
P.S. Thanks for all the well wishes in finding my ring.. still no luck but I'm staying positive!
this completely makes me miss my sisters.

I love your blog! I too agree that friends are hard to come by and it is so nice to have one that will always be there. I came across your blog through Instagram and have enjoyed reading your post. I live here in Beaverton and we attend the 8AM Westside service at SR. I look forward to your future posts!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! i am the same way with friends. having sisters is the best!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a good time! I wouldn't act differently around you because you are a pastors wife. I would act differently around you because I would worry you wouldn't like my clothes or something lol. Fashion blogger v. Mommy blogger on a budget.
ReplyDeleteI imagine being a pastor's wife has got to be somewhat similar to growing up as a pastor's kid. I know what you mean.. Are there any other pastor's wives in your circle of community that you could spend more time with? Sometimes all it takes is knowing that someone understands what you're going through to be able to let your guard down a little more :)
ReplyDeletewhat a cute baby!

So fun, I wish I had more time with my sisters!
ReplyDeletesarah...first, greyer is completely PRESH. also I just have to tell you, that moment in uganda when we were all hot and tired and ready to go back to the hotel, and you finally just squatted down next to the bus and said 'this is the real sarah, guys!' is one of my favorite moments. I think you're absolutely wonderful, and I love the glimpses of the 'real sarah' I've seen. xoxo.
ReplyDeleteUm, first off, Greyer is absolutely gorgeous. And you and your sisters are darling -- all three of you look alike (even the cousin)! Glad you got a little girl time in!

awww, girl time is soooo good for the soul (and the sanity:-) I don't have any "real" sisters, but I got me some fake sister-friends. Couldn't do life without 'em. xoxo
ReplyDeleteP.S. We should hang. I bring along plenty of weird, so it'll cancel out any other "weird." haha.
Somehow I missed the part about your losing a ring. Someone once told me "nothing is ever lost" God and his angels know right where it is. I don't always find my lost things right away, but by keeping that thought in mind, they always come "home." (I've also been known to tell the angels, "Hey! Bring that back!" To which I may find it sitting on my desk the next day.) So keep that thought in mind and it's sure to come back to you.
ReplyDeleteAww, how cute! And that food looks DELICIOUS!

I love me some Ruby Jewel! :) Sisters are the best. I have one sister and a cousin that is just as close! Girl time with them is just the best. I feel like the only time I am really understood is when I'm with them sometimes. I get that...
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! I wish I had a sister! :) My brothers better start all getting married soon! One of my best friends is a PW... I've never thought to ask her if she feels like that, but I will now :)

Awww.. Sister's is God's gifts to each other.
ReplyDeleteSisters are the best friends anyone could have. Thank god for them. I would be lost without my big sis we tell each other everything. I love the fact that you shared this experience with us. Thanks.
