You guys, I can't believe it finally happened to me... I seem to have lost my wedding ring!!!
I've never been one to misplace things, but since I've had a baby I just can't seem to keep track of everything. Ian has actually lost his wedding ring four times I think.. and we've had to replace it twice. But now it's happened to me! I'm so sad about it and honestly don't know how it happened.
Not sure what we will do about it but Ian teases me that I hid it so that I could get another one (???) hahaha. NOT TRUE. But he's making me wait at least three days before deciding that the ring is officially lost. It's been two.
The truth is, it's just a possession-- a possession with sacred, sentimental, and symbolic meanings behind it yes, but it's just a thing.
My love and marriage didn't end the night I lost my ring, in fact it kind of solidified it in a silly way reminding me that sure I don't have that rock on my finger anymore (currently wearing an itty bitty backup) but my marriage is still intact and I still love Ian, even without the diamond he gave me.
... you know me, always trying to find the deeper meaning behind things...
Hahaha I'm totally joking. I'm just trying to keep my perspective clear I guess.
And if you happen to find my ring, will you please let me know?
I'm sorry you lost it, I hope it shows up. Have someone else look for it, not you. That seems to work sometimes. I love that penguin sweater you linked to!! And you outfit as always is awesome. Happy Friday!

ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I hope you find your wedding ring soon! When I burned my hand I couldn't wear mine so I know how it feels to not have it there but I don't know how it feels to have lost it. Keep looking, tear your house apart and look in your car!

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! That is literally my worst nightmare but mostly because the center diamond on my ring was Scott's grandmother's so it's technically irreplaceable. My mom always says to say a prayer to St. Jude when you can't find something so I'll say one for you - I hope you find it.

oh sadness! it must be the week of lost rings, my friend misplaced hers on Wednesday. She looked all day long, tore her house apart. She prayed (for like, the 100th time) and found it randomly in a drawer. I guess it had just slipped right off her finger!

Aww girl I'm sorry! I would be extremely sad too! It's hard to not put so much meaning into an object...but I get it. The diamond in my ring is from my husband's grandmother and I always worry it will fall out or something and it won't be insured...but it's also an heirloom I lost! Just hoping it doesn't happen haha

oh that's really sad! My husband lost his wedding ring when we were on vacation last summer, but we were able to replace it pretty easily. I hope you find that special ring, or get a new one that feels just as special ;)

ahh sorry you lost it!!! im always afraid of that too. but i told myself that whenever i take it off, i HAVE to put it back in the box. no exceptions. that way i'll always know where it is. i hope you find it though!
